Below are some examples of how we'd crop a variety of images to emphasize players and to suit various print sizes, along with the story of a good cropping gone bad.

What's wrong with this picture?

The guy in the baseball cap wanted to be in the photo.

Customer: "You cut my head off."
Me: "I highlighted the players."
Customer: "You didn't tell me you were going to do that.
Me: "We always emphasize the players"
Customer: "I wouldn't have bought it if I'd known I wasn't going to be in it."
Me: "The cropping policy is on the instructions posted right next to every viewing monitor."
Customer: "I didn't read it."

Me: "So this is my fault?"
Customer: "Well, it's not mine. I want a reprint or a refund."

Since it was a small print I recropped and reprinted it. He then asked if he could have the print he was returning. After explaining to him that this would defeat the purpose of returning, he made the mistake of asking me FAQ #15.
